28.07.2019    Race report 24 hours of Spa

KÜS Team75 Bernhard finished the 24 hours of Spa in ninth place.

The team battled well through the night however suffered a few minor setbacks which saw them fall back in the field. By the time morning arrived at Spa-Francorchamps heavy rain was falling over the circuit, making driving conditions near-impossible and leading to a red flag shortly after 05.40 and the race was resumed shortly after 11:00. Two and a half hours before the end the #117 Porsche was back in the top ten and eventually took the chequered flag in ninth place.

"Congratulations to the Porsche teams on their double victory,” said Timo. “We made it to the chequered flag and showed a good performance throughout the weekend. We started from the front row and Laurens also got the fastest lap of the race – that’s a solid performance we can build on.  Unfortunately we've had a few hiccups along the way, such as a drive-through penalty, a flat tire and other issues, but these things can happen in motorsport. The performance was good, even if the result does not reflect it. We won’t give up and come back stronger."
